Fantastic Day!
Today I went downtown with Sandy to see the CSO. It was rather exciting, because Pierre Boulez was conducting (we just discussed him in music history), and they were playing Stravinsky's Pulcinella (a ballet that's rarely played in orchestral form, from what I've read). We took a gamble and got student tickets, which are only $10 each. The only catch is they seat you wherever they have available, so you can get wonderful or wonderfully crappy seats.
We were on the main floor, about six rows in. Which was rather happy.
The performance was SPECTACULAR. =D
Afterwards, we ate at Bennigan's on Michigan Ave. Which was rather exciting, because we both remember last year when it was supposedly closing...as do my parents...I don't know why it was still open, but both of us were surprised. It was happy.
Before the concert we had some spare time, so we wandered around in Millenium Park. It was in the upper 60s, which was *glorious*! I got to wear a skirt and no jacket without freezing. =D
We caught our train with time to spare (which hasn't happened to me for a while, normally I'm running to catch it).
After coming home I decided to look up where we were sitting and how much those seats *actually* cost...
*drumroll please*
$84.
And we only paid $10!!!!!!!!!
=D=D=D
Oh happy, happy day...
Now I'm off to boring things, like laundry. =P
