Work in Progress

You oughta hear the mirror in my house You oughta fear her pretty, pretty mouth Says I’m imperfect in every way: “Miss Almost, Miss Maybe, Miss Halfway”/...But I’m gonna burn, I’m gonna shine and multiply I’m gonna fill up the great divide You’ll never break me with all the things you say “Miss Almost, Miss Maybe, Miss Halfway”

dinner tonight

My sides still hurt.
So tomorrow my mom is taking us to see my Noni. My brother will be in school, so he won't be able to come, so we've been keeping it quiet.
After dinner.
Me: [loudly] I could bring my computer and show them pictures!
My mom: [evil eye]
Me: [remembers Nate can't know] ....to the livingroom!
Everyone: [laughs]
My dad: It's a good thing she won't be working for the FBI. [moment later] There's a bug! In the lampshade! ...looks like a cockroach.
Everyone but me: [laughs hysterically]
Me: Wait...what? There's no lampshades! I don't understand! [five minutes later] OH! [dies]
*in case you didn't get that, as Melissa didn't either, it'd be like me in a room looking for a "bug" (listening device) and announcing where it is while the criminal could hear me. Then trying to pass it off as something different.
*earlier in the meal. We were talking about owls. I don't remember why. But Chelsea temporarily forgot what they looked like.*
Me: They're like geese. But without the necks.
Everyone: What? No they're not...
Me: Yeah! They're big birds...like geese...but they don't have the necks.
Melissa to Chelsea: You know, there was this farmer who thought his goose had too long a neck, so he chopped it off and sew-ed his head back on. And that's how geese started.
Everyone: [laughs]
Me: Sometimes...things just make sense in my head...and then I say them, and everyone else is confused.

It was a fun dinner. :D
